For shrimp keepers, snail enthusiasts, and anyone running soft or remineralised RO water, it is one of the simplest and most effective ways to ensure your invertebrates have access to the calcium they need for strong shells, healthy moults, and proper growth.

Unlike synthetic calcium powders, cuttlebone dissolves slowly and naturally in water, releasing calcium and trace minerals steadily over time without causing sudden parameter swings. Completely edible and highly bioavailable, it is grazed on directly by shrimp and snails as it breaks down — making it both a supplement and a natural foraging activity in one.

Key Benefits

100% natural calcium and trace mineral source — no synthetic additives

Dissolves slowly for steady, gentle calcium release that won't spike parameters

Encourages natural foraging behaviour as shrimp and snails graze directly on the surface

Helps prevent shell erosion, pitting, cracking, and failed moults in freshwater invertebrates

Completely safe for all fish, shrimp, snails, crayfish, and aquatic turtles

Also suitable for tortoises, birds, and reptiles requiring calcium supplementation

How to Use

Drop directly into the aquarium — no preparation needed. The cuttlebone will initially float, gradually becoming waterlogged and sinking over time. It can also be weighted down with a rock or clip if preferred.
