Albino Blue Dolphin - Cyrtocara Moorii

The Albino Blue Dolphin is one of the most distinctive Malawi cichlids you can keep. Its large, rounded forehead (nuchal hump) and sleek, dolphin-like shape give it a unique profile compared to many other African cichlids. In the albino form, the body shows soft yellow-cream tones with pale blue highlights and red or orange eyes, giving it a striking contrast against rocky aquascapes and darker tankmates.

This species is considered moderate to advanced in care due to its size, territorial behavior, and specific water requirements. Albino Blue Dolphins are best suited for experienced hobbyists or dedicated African cichlid setups, with plenty of room to swim and distinct territories for males.

Compatibility & Behavior:
Albino Blue Dolphins do well in Lake Malawi cichlid communities with other large, semi-aggressive species such as peacocks, haps, and larger Placidochromis. Avoid pairing them with very small fish that could be viewed as prey, or extremely aggressive Mbuna that may stress them. Ample rock formations and caves help diffuse aggression and give males visual boundaries.
