American Flagfish - Jordanella Floridae

The American Flagfish is a striking North American killifish named for its red, white, and blue coloration reminiscent of the U.S. flag. Males display bold vertical stripes with vivid red fins tipped in white or blue, while females are generally smaller and more muted in tone. Their active swimming and unique coloration make them a standout in community and planted aquariums.

This species is moderate in care and adapts well to a variety of freshwater setups. They are hardy and tolerant of a wide temperature range but thrive best in stable, well-filtered tanks with moderate flow. Flagfish are known algae grazers, which makes them useful for planted aquariums, though they may nip at soft-leaved plants if not provided enough algae or supplemental food.
