Banana Pod

As they soak and begin to break down, Banana Pods release tannins that help create a soft, slightly tinted blackwater environment. They also develop a layer of biofilm over time, making them especially useful in shrimp tanks where grazing surfaces are important. Their shape can offer small hiding spots and shaded areas for shrimp and fry.
