Unlike the more commonly seen electric blue crayfish, the Blue Moon displays a softer, more elegant gradient with occasional hints of lavender or silvery teal.

This species is relatively peaceful for a crayfish, especially when given space and proper hiding spots. However, it may prey on small, slow-moving tankmates and should not be housed with delicate fish or inverts. A secure lid is essential, as crayfish are escape artists. They thrive in well-oxygenated water with stable conditions, and regular calcium intake helps support healthy molting and shell growth.
