Growth & Maintenance

Cryptocoryne pontederiifolia grows as a compact rosette with long leaves that may reach upward or arch outward. A fertile substrate and occasional root fertilization promote strong leaf growth. As with other Crypts, it may undergo temporary “Crypt melt” when first introduced or after sudden water changes, but it usually recovers under stable conditions. Older or damaged leaves can be trimmed to maintain a tidy appearance.
