The Ember Tetra is a small, peaceful freshwater fish renowned for its vibrant orange-red coloration and active schooling behavior. Native to the Rio Tocantins in Brazil, this tiny tetra adds warmth and movement to planted aquariums, making it a favorite for nano and community tanks alike.

This species is easy to keep, hardy, and thrives in well-maintained tanks with stable water parameters.

Behavior & Compatibility:

Ember Tetras are peaceful, active schooling fish that display their best colors in groups of 6 or more. They coexist well with:

• Small rasboras, tetras, and danios

• Corydoras and other gentle bottom dwellers

• Shrimp and snails

Avoid large or aggressive fish that could intimidate or prey on them.

Tank Setup:

A planted aquarium with open swimming areas, floating plants, and gentle water flow is ideal. Low to moderate lighting enhances their vivid orange-red coloration, while stable water parameters encourage natural schooling and active behavior.
