Emperor Tetra - Nematobrycon Palmeri

Nematobrycon palmeri, known as the Emperor Tetra, is a regal and elegant freshwater fish native to the slow-moving streams of Colombia. With a shimmering, iridescent body, bold horizontal stripe, and long flowing fins, this species truly lives up to its royal name.

Emperor Tetras are peaceful and best kept in small schools of 6 or more. Males tend to be more colorful with longer dorsal and caudal fins, while females have a rounder body shape. They enjoy a well-planted tank with shaded areas and soft, slightly acidic water to bring out their best colors and natural behavior.
