The Gardneri Killi (Aphyosemion gardneri), also known as the Gardner's Killifish, is a vibrant and hardy species of killifish, native to the freshwater rivers and streams of West Africa. This species is admired for its stunning coloration, with males typically showcasing bright shades of orange, red, and yellow, contrasted by a beautiful blue or green sheen. The Gardneri Killi is a peaceful and active fish, often seen darting through plants and swimming near the surface of the water. It does well in both planted and unplanted tanks, but they benefit from a soft substrate and gentle water movement. As egg layers, these fish will spawn in the substrate, and while they can breed in community tanks, it’s advisable to separate eggs from other tank inhabitants to ensure survival.
