Green Angelfish

The Green Angelfish is a visually appealing freshwater angelfish prized for its subtle greenish-gold body tones, graceful vertical fins, and elegant, laterally compressed shape. Its gentle shimmer and flowing fins make it a standout midwater species in community tanks, complementing both planted aquariums and open swimming spaces.

This species is moderate in care, best suited for aquarists who can maintain stable water conditions. Like most angelfish, it is semi-aggressive, especially during breeding or when establishing territory, but generally coexists peacefully in well-planned communities.

• Temperature: 24–28 °C

• pH: 6.5–7.5

• Water Hardness: Soft to moderately hard

• Temperament: Semi-aggressive (territorial during breeding)

• Diet: Omnivore — flakes, pellets, frozen foods, and occasional live foods

Behavior & Compatibility:

Green Angelfish thrive in planted community aquariums with peaceful or moderately active species of similar size. Avoid housing with very small fish that may be viewed as food. Vertical plants, driftwood, and tall hiding spots help diffuse aggression and provide security for breeding pairs.

They may form monogamous pairs, and providing defined territories can reduce disputes and encourage natural breeding behavior.
