HMPK Copper Galaxy Betta - Grade A (Male)

The Halfmoon Plakat Copper Galaxy Betta is a premium male Betta splendens variety known for its striking metallic “copper” sheen layered with a galaxy-style iridescent pattern. This creates a shimmering, almost speckled effect that shifts in the light, giving each fish a unique and eye-catching appearance. The Halfmoon Plakat (HMPK) form combines the broad tail spread of a Halfmoon with the shorter, more robust fins of a Plakat, resulting in a fish that is both elegant and strong.

Grade A males are selected for intense coloration, clean patterning, and strong body and fin structure, making them standout display fish.

Care Requirements:
Like all bettas, they require a warm, stable, and well-maintained aquarium. A minimum of 5–10 gallons is recommended, with larger setups preferred for better stability. Keep the water temperature consistent and provide gentle filtration to avoid stressing their fins. They do best in planted tanks with hiding spots and resting areas, such as broad leaves or botanicals. A secure lid is important, as bettas are known jumpers. Regular water changes are essential to maintain high water quality.

Diet:
This is a carnivorous fish that thrives on a high-protein diet. A quality betta pellet should form the staple, supplemented with frozen or live foods like bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia. Feeding small portions once or twice daily helps maintain optimal health and coloration.

Tankmates:
Male bettas are typically best kept alone due to their territorial nature. In larger, carefully managed aquariums, they may sometimes be kept with peaceful, non-fin-nipping species, but compatibility varies by individual. Avoid other male bettas and aggressive or overly active fish that may stress them.
