HMPK Galaxy - Grade A Betta (Male)

The Galaxy Halfmoon Plakat Betta is a stunning variety of Betta splendens, known for its bold coloration and compact, muscular body. “Galaxy” refers to the iridescent, metallic scaling that appears like scattered stars across the fish, often layered over deep blues, reds, or blacks. The Halfmoon Plakat tail combines the wide, elegant spread of a Halfmoon with the shorter, more robust fins of a Plakat, giving this fish both beauty and strength.

Grade A individuals are selected for strong coloration, clean patterning, and overall fin and body quality, making them especially desirable for display or breeding.

Care Requirements:
Bettas should be kept in a heated, filtered aquarium with stable water conditions. A minimum of 5 gallons is recommended, though larger setups provide more stability and enrichment. Water temperature should be kept warm and consistent, and gentle filtration is important due to their long fins and preference for calm water. They appreciate planted tanks with hiding spots and resting places near the surface. Regular water changes are essential to maintain water quality.

Diet:
This species is carnivorous and thrives on a high-protein diet. Offer a variety of foods such as high-quality betta pellets, frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia. Feeding small portions once or twice daily helps prevent overfeeding and supports long-term health.

Tankmates:
Male bettas are best kept alone due to their territorial nature. In some cases, they can coexist with peaceful, non-fin-nipping species in larger, well-planned community tanks, but care must be taken to ensure compatibility. Avoid other male bettas and aggressive or brightly colored fish that may trigger stress or aggression.
