Leleupi Cichlid - Neolamprologus Leleupi

Neolamprologus leleupi, commonly known as the Lelupi Cichlid, is a striking rock-dwelling species from Lake Tanganyika, prized for its intense, solid coloration that ranges from bright yellow to deep orange. Its slender, elongated body and bold pigment make it one of the most visually stunning Tanganyikan cichlids. Both males and females share similar coloration, though males may be slightly larger and more territorial.

Lelupi are cave spawners and thrive in rocky aquariums with plenty of crevices, hiding spots, and sand or fine gravel substrate. They do best with other Tanganyikan species of similar temperament and size. Though relatively small, they can be feisty—especially during breeding—so provide ample space and sight breaks to reduce aggression.
