The Lemon Tetra is a small, peaceful freshwater fish recognized for its soft yellow body, iridescent fins, and striking red eyes. Native to the Rio Tapajós in Brazil, it is an active schooling species that brings gentle color and movement to planted or community aquariums.

This species is easy to keep, hardy, and well-suited for both beginner and experienced aquarists.

Behavior & Compatibility:

Lemon Tetras are peaceful, active schooling fish that display their best colors in groups of 6 or more. They coexist well with:

• Small tetras, rasboras, and danios

• Corydoras and other gentle bottom dwellers

• Shrimp and snails

Avoid large, aggressive, or predatory species that could stress or harm them.

Tank Setup:

A planted aquarium with open swimming areas, floating plants, and gentle filtration is ideal. Moderate lighting enhances their soft yellow coloration, while stable water parameters encourage schooling behavior and overall health.
