Ludwigia Ovalis

Ludwigia ovalis is a refined, colorful stem plant known for its rounded to oval-shaped leaves and striking gradient tones. Under good lighting, it develops beautiful pink, orange, and red hues at the top while lower growth remains green to bronze. The softer leaf shape gives it a slightly more delicate appearance than other Ludwigia varieties, making it a standout focal plant in planted aquariums.

This species is considered moderate in difficulty. It benefits from stronger lighting to maintain its warm coloration and compact growth. In lower light, it may grow taller and greener with more spaced-out leaves. CO₂ is not mandatory but greatly enhances color intensity and overall density. Like other stem plants, it responds well to trimming—cut and replant tops to build a lush, layered background or midground grouping.

Avoid pairing with larger herbivorous fish that may damage softer foliage.
