Native to the rivers of Papua New Guinea, this species is known for its iridescent blue body and striking red or orange fins. The Neon Dwarf Rainbowfish is a highly active, schooling fish that thrives in groups of six or more, displaying its best colors and natural behaviors when kept in a well-maintained, planted aquarium. Despite its small size, it is a lively swimmer that does best in a spacious tank with plenty of open swimming areas. It is peaceful and makes an excellent tank mate for other community fish. They are omnivorous and will readily accept high-quality flake food, pellets, and live or frozen foods.
