The Pygmy Corydoras (Corydoras pygmaeus) is a tiny, active, and peaceful species of catfish, perfect for nano aquariums. Native to the rivers and streams of South America, these little fish are one of the smallest members of the Corydoras family, making them ideal for small, well-planted tanks. Pygmy Corydoras are social and should be kept in schools of at least 6 individuals to thrive and display their natural behaviors. They are bottom dwellers, constantly foraging for food, and are excellent at scavenging uneaten food and debris, helping to maintain a clean tank. Their small size and peaceful temperament make them compatible with a wide range of other small, non-aggressive species. Pygmy Corydoras prefer soft, slightly acidic water and a fine, sandy substrate to sift through.
