Nannostomus beckfordi var, commonly known as the Red Beckford’s Pencilfish, is a slender, elegant nano fish with a vivid reddish hue and distinctive black horizontal stripe running from snout to tail. Native to the calm, tannin-rich waters of South America, these schooling fish add a splash of color and graceful movement to planted tanks.

They prefer peaceful, well-structured aquariums with soft lighting and plenty of hiding spots among plants or driftwood. When kept in groups of six or more, they display better color and a more natural, confident behavior.
