The Rubberlip Pleco L-146 is a small to medium-sized freshwater catfish native to South America, recognized for its rounded body, large suction-cup mouth, and distinctive rubbery lips used for scraping algae and biofilm from rocks and surfaces. Its subtle mottled brown coloration allows it to blend into rocky, driftwood-filled aquariums, while its active bottom-dwelling behavior adds interest and movement.
This species is moderate in care, thriving in well-maintained aquariums with stable water parameters and plenty of hiding spots. It prefers slightly cooler water than many tropical plecos and enjoys flowing water conditions.
