Sunset Honey Gourami - Trichogaster Chuna

The Sunset Honey Gourami is a peaceful and beautifully coloured dwarf gourami prized for its warm sunset-like hues of orange, gold, and red. This smaller gourami species is known for its gentle temperament and graceful swimming style, making it an excellent choice for planted community aquariums and nano setups.

Males develop the brightest coloration, especially during breeding displays, while females tend to remain softer gold or honey tones. Their calm nature makes them well suited to community tanks with other peaceful fish, and they thrive in heavily planted aquariums with subdued lighting, floating plants, and gentle water flow.

Like other gouramis, Sunset Honey Gouramis possess a labyrinth organ, allowing them to breathe atmospheric air from the surface. They appreciate stable, warm water conditions and a calm environment without aggressive tankmates.

A varied diet including quality micro pellets, flakes, frozen foods, and occasional live foods will help maintain their colour and overall health.
