Threadfin Rainbow - Iriatherina Werneri

The Threadfin Rainbowfish is an elegant and delicate species known for its flowing, extended fins and shimmering body. Males are especially eye-catching, with long thread-like dorsal and anal fins and vibrant flashes of yellow, blue, and redwhen viewed under soft light. Females are smaller and less ornate but still graceful.

Native to slow-moving streams and swamps of northern Australia and New Guinea, these tiny beauties do best in peaceful, planted aquariums with gentle flow and soft, acidic water. They are best kept in groups with a ratio of multiple females per male to avoid fin-nipping among males.
