Tropica Aquarium Soil

Aquarium Soil is a complete planted aquarium substrate designed to support healthy root development, vigorous plant growth, and vibrant aquatic plant coloration from the very beginning. Its 2–3 mm grain size makes planting easy while allowing roots to spread efficiently throughout the substrate. The nutrient-rich composition helps promote lush growth and can enhance the natural red tones found in many aquatic plants.

This active substrate can be used on its own without requiring an additional base layer, making aquarium setup simple and effective for both beginner and experienced aquascapers. Aquarium Soil also gently lowers pH and slightly affects water chemistry, helping create ideal conditions for many planted aquarium layouts and tropical species.

For newly established aquariums, it is recommended to perform 25–50% water changes at least twice weekly during the first four weeks to help stabilize the aquarium while the substrate settles.

How Much Soil Do You Need?
To calculate the amount of substrate needed for your aquarium:

Length (cm) × Width (cm) × Desired Substrate Depth (cm) ÷ 1000 = Litres Needed

Example:
90 × 60 × 8 ÷ 1000 = 43.2L of substrate required

For a more natural aquascape appearance, many hobbyists create a deeper substrate bed toward the back of the aquarium for added depth and perspective.
