Yellow Belly Hap (Astatotilapia aeneocolor) is a striking and hardy African cichlid originating from Lake George in Uganda. Males develop vivid yellow bellies and flanks contrasted by metallic blue faces and dorsal areas—making them a showstopper in any tank. Females are more subdued in color, but their lively behavior still adds charm.

These fish are relatively peaceful compared to other African cichlids, making them a great choice for mixed hap and peacock tanks. They thrive in well-oxygenated water with plenty of open swimming space and some rockwork for territory.
